What’s up guy’s n gals? It’s Injury Files time again. This week we look at some lingering pre week one issues. Some new cases from the weekend. And, some bits we just need to keep an eye on later in the week. As always be sure to check out Murf’s match-ups show later this week where there will no doubt be updates on some of these guys. Let’s get into it.

It was a rough week one for the Dallas Cowboys, getting smashed in prime time by the Buccaneers. That wasn’t the end of their woes. Dak Prescott, needed surgery on his thumb and was initially slated to miss 6-8 weeks. After the procedure was complete he’s now looking at a 4-6 week absence so may still end up on IR. Cooper Rush is expected to lead the Cowboys into week two.

New England Patriots Quarterback Mac Jones, hurt his back in the loss at Miami. After an initial X-Ray returned no negative news, the second year signal caller will undergo further evaluation when they return home. Something to keep an eye throughout the week, for your 2QB leagues.

Quick update on Zach Wilson (torn meniscus) –  last Wednesday Robert Saleh said in a press conference the earliest return would be week four at Pittsburgh.

Elijah Mitchell hurt his knee in the first half of Sunday’s loss at Soldier Field in the extreme weather. He was seen leaving the stadium in a knee brace before an MRI scan on Monday confirmed an MCL sprain. Like Dallas, the 49ers have a week 9 bye and it’s highly unlikely he will be back before the bye. IR bound for Mitchell. Jeff Wilson Jr. will step up in his absence, who should be available on waivers. Go blow some FAAB.

Pittsburgh star Running Back Najee Harris, injured his foot against the Bengals in week one and was unable to return to the field for the overtime period. The 2021 first round pick was dealing with a lisfranc issue through training camp. The injury he picked up Sunday hasn’t discouraged anyone around him that he will miss time. However, keep an eye on this later in the week.

Tee Higgins left the game before half time and went immediately into concussion protocol. It’s unknown currently how serious the concussion is and how long he will miss. In the meantime expect an uptick for Tyler Boyd. Chargers wideout Keenan Allen injured his hamstring in the game with Las Vegas on the weekend. It’s a short week for Brandon Staley’s men as they face off with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. With an MRI scan pending, it would be remarkable if Allen plays week two.

Chris Godwin featured in my week one article. He miraculously recovered from an ACL and MCL tear to suit up and play the season opener against the Cowboys. Godwin did not tweak an injury he’s just come back from which is good news, he did however strain his hamstring. A couple weeks sidelined is good news considering, for Fantasy Football shareholders, as that’s what we expected anyway whilst drafting him. I’ll keep you updated on a timeline for the Bucs star next week.

Brian Daboll’s Rookie receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, left his debut after playing just 9 snaps. The new Giants Head Coach hasn’t really let on the severity of Robinson’s injury. All we know is it’s a knee injury and he’s considered day to day currently. One to keep an eye on for deeper leagues this week.

George Kittle was a late rule out for week one after missing practise all last week with a groin problem. There’s been no new news as yet other than Kyle Shanahan stating “I know he’ll be working to get back”. Trey Lance could do with the stud Tight End back next week as he struggled to get anything going in the passing game. San Francisco and Fantasy GM’s will be eager for Kittle to return, let’s hope it’s this Sunday.
